La Roche Leadership Foundation Visited the Correctional Centre at Olowora for it’s May Visitation. This acts as a half way house for the boys coming out of the Special Correctional Centres and it is an indispensable part of reintroducing them into society. Able and ready to work, having been through both formal and vocational education, they have this time as a period of adjustment to get ready for their independence.
It is a great centre, serene and purpose built and the boys turned young men leave here on a stronger and better footing. It is interesting to note that it is only Lagos State that has a system of corrections/protection for minors and at-risk children; this demonstrates the commitment to children and young people that the State has.
